Marilyn Johnson obituary
Marilyn L. Johnson, 82, of Red Wing, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Lake City Care Center.
Born on January 26, 1944, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Marilyn was the daughter of Leonard and Melpha (Rauk) Johnson of Caledonia, Minnesota. She graduated from Caledonia High School with the class of 1962 before pursuing her higher education at the University of Minnesota. Marilyn worked for many years for Knudsen Trucking and then for Koch Transportation. In 1964, Marilyn married Verdayne Bubbers, and together they were blessed with three sons. Marilyn was proud of her Norwegian heritage and was a lifelong member of the Son’s of Norway. She was crowned Queen of the Son’s of Norway in 2010.
Marilyn’s memory will be cherished by her three sons, Kevin (Melissa) of Champlin, Daryl (Christi) of Moorhead, and Verdayne II (Jennifer) of Rochester; her four beloved grandchildren, Chelsea, Morgan, Hanna, and Megan; her brother, Richard Johnson of Westby, Wisconsin; and her sister, Barbara (Gary) Lorenz of Hokah, Minnesota. She was reunited in death with her parents and her brother, Stanley Johnson.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, Minnesota.
