Mary Lou Waltman

    Mary Lou Waltman, 72, of Lake City, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Lake City Hospital.  
    She was born on Sept. 21, 1946, in Wabasha  to Gus and Mary (Sader) Lyons.  She graduated from Plainview High School in 1964. On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Terry Waltman at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview.  Mary Lou worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company for 35 years.  She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a member of the Wells Creek Riders Snowmobile Club.  For the past 10 years she has served on the Lake City City Council.  She had a passion for gardening, where she and Terry had a vegetable stand for a number of years. She enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping and riding ATVs.
    Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Terry; three children, Cindy Powers of Hastings, Scott (Susan) Waltman of Lake City and Christine (Thomas) Fick of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Cally Powers, Cody and Ashley Waltman, Chandra Witham, Miranda Wallerich and Peyton and Lindsey Fick; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Kenneth) Donlinger of Kellogg and Lucille (David) Webster of Oronoco; along with several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Steve Frentz officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
