Matthew Neubert obituary
Matthew Jon Neubert, 66, passed on March 3, 2025 at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the husband to Patrice Pritzl for 35 years and a friend for much longer, as well as a dad to the many loving dogs and cats that shared his home over the years.
Matt was born in Wales, North Dakota and he was the son of Jake and Kate Neubert. He grew up in Lake City, Minnesota and obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1980. He then moved on to the University of Arizona where he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1983 and became licensed to practice law in Arizona in 1983 and in Washington state in 1989. He served as the Director of the Securities Division at the State of Arizona Corporation Commission prior to being promoted to the position of Executive Director of the Arizona Corporation Commission, from which he retired in January 2023. During his tenure, Matt served to protect the public, first in the securities industry and then in business services, hearing division, pipeline and railroad safety and utilities to include water, electric, telephone and gas. He was a man of commitment and honor regardless of the many political storms that characterized state politics.
In addition to his commitment to public service, Matt fought for the welfare of animals, adopting dogs and cats, contributing to animal welfare organizations and volunteering his time to work with rescue dogs. He will be remembered for his intelligence, humor and kindness
He is survived by his wife and his much loved dogs.
