Peter Kehren Obituary

Peter Henry Kehren, 59, of rural Lake City passed away at home on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
    Pete was born to Ray and Carol (Meyer) Kehren in Red Wing on April 26, 1957. He was baptized into his Christian faith on May 12, 1957 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Belvidere.
    Pete retired from the local laborer’s union in 2014 and continued farming on the family farm.  He was a Christian and friend to many.  Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, family and friends. He especially enjoyed his private family relationships.
    He is survived by his father, Raymond Kehren of Goodhue; siblings, Terri Wovcha of Maple Grove, Heidi Roberson of Rochester, Andrew (Kris) Kehren of New Ulm; step family, Susan Butler of Indiana, Jean (Lonnie) Purvis of Georgia, William (Jan) Hoffman of Gilbert, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol; stepmother, Marie; sister, Susan; and brother, Timothy.
    A funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Belvidere with Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City on Monday, Aug. 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
