Ralph Pruter Obituary

Ralph Elmer Pruter, 63, of Lake City, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Lake City Hospital.  
    He was born July 2, 1954 in Lake City to Arnold and Margaret (Niemann) Pruter.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City.  In 1980 he married Teri Bauer and they later divorced.  On June 3, 2017 Ralph married Mary O’Brien.  He enjoyed restoring and working on tractors with Steven Pruter and building projects with his friend, Mike Russell.  Ralph’s true passion was farming and taking care of his animals and crops.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and the Wabasha County Cattleman Association and was Lake Township chairman.
    Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary O’Brien of Lake City; five step-children, Sean (Cindy) O’Brien of Plymouth, Minn.,  Kristine O’Brien of Christ Church, New Zealand, Steven O’Brien of Omaha, Neb., Jason (Lisa) Bauer of Lake City and Shawn (Ruth) Bauer of Lake City; favorite nephew, Steven Pruter of Cokato, Minn.; sister, Joyce (Joe) Burke of Lake City; brother, Eugene (Luena) Pruter of Winona; as well as three nieces and two nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Margaret Pruter; brother, John Pruter; and one niece.  
    Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Nathan Cordes officiating.  Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday (today), April 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
