Raymond Plank obituary
Raymond Plank, 91, of Lake City, passed away at the Mayo Lake City Hospital on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
Raymond was born on January 22, 1932 to Herbert and Delores (Eastman) Plank in Wabasha County. Raymond attended school at Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Wabasha and graduated in 1947. On August 15, 1949 he married the love of his life, Versie Mae Walker at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He worked at AE Goetze for 44 years, retiring March 3, 1995. After retirement, he worked many years in Lawn Care and at Bluff Valley Campground. Raymond enjoyed playing cards, bean bags, fishing, camping, gardening and a few cold ones with family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Barbara O’Flaherty of Lake City; son, Robert “Butch” Plank of Arden Hills, Minn.; six grandchildren, Tammy (Jeff) Moyer, John (Christy) O’Flaherty, Toni (Jeff) Jennison, Carrie (Paul) Kleinschmidt, Robbie Plank and Jackie Linville; ten great grandchildren, Nick (Lizzie) Moyer, Caitlin Moyer, Austin (Claudia) O’Flaherty, Evan O’Flaherty, Jordan Jennison, Ethan and Julia LaBrash, Ray Ray Plank, Katlynn and Chandler Linville; three great great grandchildren, Johnathan and Theo Moyer, Ryder Contreras; siblings, John (Janet) Plank, Shirley Meincke, Sharon Henning, Kathy Roberts, Charlotte Plank, Jim Plank, Ron (Sue) Plank; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Versie; his parents; daughter, Carol; son-in-law, Rich O’Flaherty; siblings, Kenny Plank, Ellen Plank, Lois Beaham, Marvin Plank, Virginia Henning, Eugene Plank, Nancy O’Flaherty, Elaine Halpaus, Dort Blattner and Fran Plank.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Nathan Cordes officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson - Peterson Chapel and one hour before the service at the church.
