Robert Ogren Obituary

Robert Ogren, 90, of Venice, Fla. died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.
    Bob was born Feb. 25, 1929, to the late Fritz W. and Ethel (Pearson) Ogren in Marcus, Iowa. A WWII veteran, Bob joined the Army Air Corp after his high school graduation. He served in Japan and was honorably discharged in 1949. He was a member of the American Legion in Independence, Mo.
    After the Army, Bob held several different jobs including being a butcher, a construction worker, computer operator (when the machines were huge) and then becoming a superintendent for the Younglove Construction Company in Sioux City, Iowa. He traveled extensively for Younglove building grain elevators all over the United States. He retired in 1994 and lived in Missouri and Florida. Bob’s favorite activities were golf, deep sea fishing and spending time with family.
    Bob is survived by his daughter, Vickie (Stephen)  Raymond of Lake City; one son, Kevin (Jackie) Ogren of Carrington, N.D.; five grandchildren, Kelli, Tyler, Dwight (Nicole), Tera (Mark) and Robert; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, MaryAnn Anderson of Cherokee, Iowa and Linda Kardy of York, Pa; sister-in-law, Sis Ogren of Mt. Airy, Md.; brother-in-law, Sherald Grauer of Cherokee, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnie Ogren; sisters, Arlene Kimball, Shirley Ryan and Carol Grauer; brother-in-law, Jim Anderson; and grandson, Joshua Raymond.         Interment with military honors will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.
