Sally Wise obituary

Sally Ann Lunde Wise, 85, of Lake City, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 peacefully at her home after being on hospice several weeks.
Sally was born on May 9, 1935 in St. Paul and adopted by two wonderful parents – Lawrence and Florence Lunde. Florence, her mom, passed away when Sally was three years old. She was blessed to eventually get a brother whom she loved dearly after her father remarried.
In 1951 she married Jeremiah Patrick Wise and started her family of five.
When we think of Sally’s life it was very adventurous – nothing held her back. Sally has always been known to be a mom to many. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She absolutely loved cooking and baking and sharing it with everyone – she also loved canning fruits, vegetables and making lots of pickles. She was the greatest cook, and we will certainly miss her goodies – especially at Christmas!
She had many different types of jobs – worked at a nursing home, picked apples, worked at Drs. Gjerde and Bowers office for many years – worked at the Jewell Nursery, Jostens in Red Wing, Gould, and Valley Craft. She was a very determined worker. Her last job she worked for her son Jeremiah in Arizona at his floral shop, Designs by Jeremiah, for 16 years and then retired.
Sally is survived by her sister-in-law Rochelle Lunde, her daughter Betty (Cary) Nygaard, her son Mike (Vickie), daughter-in-law Janet Wise, six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Florence Lunde, brother Jon Lunde, and her dear sons Ralph, Patrick, and Jeremiah.
Walk-through visitation will be at Schleicher Funeral Homes in Lake City on Friday, May 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. At 7:15 p.m. we will gather for a small funeral service with Pastor Gordon Gathright. All are welcome. Masks are required and please practice social distancing.
