Shanna McDonnell obituary

Shanna Jillian McDonnell, 18 of Corinth, Miss., formerly of Lake City, Minn., died Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her parents and the family pets, Max and Macey. She was born July 20, 2004, in Lake City, to Jeremy and Melissa (Kohrs) McDonnell. She attended school in Lake City at Bluff View Elementary through the 5th grade and then went to school online at MN Connections Academy, where she worked hard enough to graduate a year and a half ahead of schedule. She and her family moved to Mississippi last year. Shanna loved to hang out with her brothers playing games via Facebook messenger, snuggle with her cat, Macey, do all sorts of crafts, work on puzzles, listen to music and sing – but most of all she simply loved to love.
She is survived by her parents, Jeremy and Melissa of Corinth, Miss.; three older brothers whom she adored, Dylan of Winona, Austin of Lake City and Jaidan (Madelyn Petit) of Dodge Center; maternal grandmother, Jill Kohrs of Lake City; paternal grandmother, Janet McDonnell of Maiden Rock, Wis.; aunts and uncles, Scott (Dixi) Kohrs of Louisville, Miss., Chad (Deonne) McDonnell of Farmington, Trevor (Sarah) McDonnell of Maiden Rock, and Calli (Mitch) Wells of Red Wing.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, an aunt, her maternal grandfather, Bill Kohrs; and paternal grandfather, Danny McDonnell.
Memorial service will be Friday, June 9 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Belvidere.
