Shirley Sprick

Shirley Eileen Sprick, 91, of Bay City, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Seminary Home in Red Wing.  
    She was born April 10, 1924 in Eden Valley, Minn. to Henry and Anna (Hanson) Cotton.  She graduated from Lake City High School in 1942 and then worked at the Blue Moon Café in Lake City.  She was united in marriage to Robert Sprick on Feb. 15, 1944.  She worked at several places in the area before she and Robert started the Goose Lake Riders snowmobile club, which later became the R & S Bar, which they owned and operated.  Shirley was a member of Tabor and Svea Lutheran Churches and the Maiden Rock Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed snowmobiling and was well-known for her Friday Night Fish Fry at the bar.
    She is survived by children, Jerry (Maydene) Sprick, Ronald Sprick, Sharon (Doug) Johnson, Joyce (Larry) Traynor, Rodney (Marlene) Sprick and Connie (Terry) Grabow; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; granddaughter, Michelle Ramirez; and six siblings, Dorothy, Roy, Glen, Conrad, Mildred and Bernice.  
    The funeral was Monday, July 13, at Svea Lutheran Church in Hager City with Rev. Dean Lundgren officiating.  Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing.
