Susan Brandt obituary

Susan Kaye Brandt, 72, of Theilman, passed peacefully on August 20, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. She was born on August 25, 1951, to Alfred and Mavis (Moyer) Kettner in Rochester. Susan graduated from Dover-Eyota Schools in 1969.
After attending Vo-Tech, Susan was hired by Mayo Clinic to work in the Cardiac Cath Lab. She worked there until she married Ralph Brandt on October 21, 1972, and they moved to Germany with the military. Together they had two sons, Jesse and Jared.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and those she loved like family, gardening, reading, listening to music, cooking and baking, and in most recent years sending and receiving emails.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Darlene Schleusner, Gary Kettner, and Donna Brandt; nephews, Bruce Schleusner, and Bill Kettner; father-in-law, Albert Brandt; sisters-in-law, Carol Garson and Judy Kettner.
Susan is survived by her sons, Jesse (Laura) of Kasson, and Jared of Theilman; her grandchildren, Alexa, Kalyn, and Gavin Brandt of Kasson; mother-in-law June Brandt, brothers-in-law, Dan Brandt, Jim (Christy) Brandt, and Clarence Schlwusner; and sister-in-law Debra (Daryl) Hahn.
Susan’s family would like to thank Pine Haven Care Center, C.W. Transport, and the teams at Mayo Clinic who cared for her, especially Dr. Kalra’s team, the staff on Mary Brigh 6G, and spiritual advisor Justin for your care of her to the end.
The funeral service for Susan will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with burial following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota. Friends and family may visit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
