A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 632
BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake City has adopted Ordinance No. 632, titled “An Interim Ordinance Authorizing a Study and Imposing a Moratorium on the Operation of Cannabis Businesses within the City of Lake City;” and
WHEREAS, the City Charter allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Ordinance is three pages in length; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary will clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City of Lake City City Council:
1.  The City of Lake City City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 632, titled “An Interim Ordinance Authorizing a Study and Imposing a Moratorium on the Operation of Cannabis Businesses within the City of Lake City.” The Ordinance prohibits the operation of a cannabis business in the City.  During the term of the Ordinance, no person may establish or operate a cannabis business within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City. The Ordinance remains in effect until January 1, 2025 or until the City Council expressly repeals it, whichever occurs first.  The Ordinance is effective upon publication.
2. The City Clerk is directed to publish this summary in lieu of publication of the entire ordinance.
3. The City Clerk is directed to post a copy of the entire text of Ordinance No. 632 at City Hall, the City of Lake City Public Library, and on the City of Lake City web site for a period of not less than 10 days.  In addition, a printed copy of Ordinance No. 632 is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at the Lake City City Hall.
