Boys golf: 2nd place finish as a team, Huettl headed to state
The Lake City Tiger boys golf team came up two shots short in their effort to repeat as Section 1AA golf champions, losing to Red Wing 631-629.
The Tigers did have one boy, Thomas Huettl, qualify for the state tournament which will be held next week at The Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club in Jordan, Minn.
Thomas shot scores of 73 and 83 to finish in fifth place. Other Lake City scores were Parker Schurhammer 78 and 83, Levi Herbst 77 and 85, Brennan Rothgarn 80 and 83, Carter Gnotke 88 and 78, and Riley Fritz 76 and 91.
