Boys golf team opens season with win at home invitational
The Lake City Tigers boys golf team started their season by winning their own invitational played Monday at the Lake City Golf Club.
Eight teams from around southeast Minnesota competed and the Tigers recorded a team score of 297 to beat second place Stewartville by 39 shots.
Lake City also placed five golfers in the top 10, starting with medalist Thomas Huettl, who fired a one-over-par 72. Other Lake City scores were Carter Gnotke, 73; Parker Schurhammer, 75; Brennan Rothgarn, 77; Riley Fritz, 77; Tanner Frank, 89; and Brady Schurhammer, 98.
