Football: Lake City’s season ends with 14-42 loss to Stewartville

The Lake City High School football team saw its 2023 season end last Saturday afternoon as Stewartville advanced to the section 1AAA championship game with a 42-14 victory at K-M Telecom Stadium.

Ranked number one in class AAA, Stewartville wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as a 37-yard touchdown pass 42 seconds into the game made it 6-0. Following a three and out by Lake City, Stewartville extended the lead to 14-0 with a one-yard touchdown run to cap a five-play, 38-yard scoring drive.
