Tiger golf girls capture HVL title
The Lake City Tiger girls golf team captured the Hiawatha Valley League (HVL) Championship held at Eastwood Golf Course on May 22.
The Tigers fired a 347 to win by 38 strokes over Kasson-Mantorville 385, followed by Byron 404, Stewartville 404, Rochester Lourdes 411, Cannon Falls 411, and Kenyon-Wanamingo 417. Triton, Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa, and Hayfield had incomplete teams.
Lake City was led by medalist Ava Wallerich’s 78, Hannah LaBonte 89, Marah Rothgarn 90, and Taylor Willers 90. Other scores included Molly Kennedy 93 and Emma Berge 106.
