‘Becoming Lake City’ podcast celebrates local stories
Award-winning filmmaker Dawn Mikkelson officially launched her new podcast, “Becoming Lake City,” on Sunday, April 26. The series “shines a spotlight on the everyday folks who help make Lake City extraordinary,” capturing what Mikkelson describes as the “spirit, charm, and quirks that make this little town by the lake feel like home.”
Mikkelson, a documentarian with seven award-winning independent features to her credit—including “Minnesota Mean” (2023) and “Finding Her Beat” (2022)—moved to her spouse’s hometown of Lake City in 2022.
