‘History Matters’ essay contest winners announced

The following essays were submitted by Blake Siewert and Ashtyn Fuller for the Lake City Historical Society (LCHS) Why History Matters essay contest.

First place winner Blake Siewert received $300 in prize money and Ashtyn Fuller, second place winner, received $200.

LCHS wishes to thank the other writers for their thoughtful, well-written essays. We would also like to thank Jim Heise and Andrew Eggenberger for their assistance and support in implementing the essay contest.
