When Les Arndt moved to Lake City Federal from Lake City State Bank in 2001, several of his old customers, farmers, followed him over.
Lake City Federal, traditionally a mortgage lender, had been expanding its loan portfolio into business and personal loans but not into agriculture.
Until customers started showing up.
“We’d better get into ag lending,” Lake City Federal President Bruce Carlstrom recalled saying then.
Les developed the bank’s ag lending program and off they went.
