50 years of firearm safety

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the Lake City Sportman’s Club held an event for students who completed their firearms safety course and their families.

Bauman told the audience that he still remembered taking the class himself in 1955 from a highway patrolman.

Bauman began teaching the course in Delano, Minn., in 1968. He continued to do so after moving to the Lake City area in 1972 and ever since.
