620 go sailing for leukemia, raise over $19,000
Sunny skies, warm temperatures, but little wind on the weekend of July 29 and 30 brought record numbers of visitors to Lake City to participate in and support the 21st annual Go Sailing for Leukemia.
120 volunteers worked to raise over $19,000, with more contributions coming in.
There were 620 guests who took the opportunity to take a sail and support raising money to find a cure for leukemia and lymphoma.
Of those 550 were visitors from outside the local area and of those, 415 were from further than 30 miles away.
