900 meals packed for kids' weekends
The Thrivent Community – River City Team recently hosted a Packing for the Weekend event at Cornerstone Community Church in Red Wing where Thrivent donated 900 meals to be distributed to local children in Red Wing and Lake City.
A team of over 50 volunteers came together to package the meals. A representative from the United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha and Pierce Counties United Way shared the story of the local packing for the weekend program. Food will be distributed through the United Way. Two hundred forty meals will be shared with children in Lake City over three weeks.
