Johnny Appleseed day returns to Lake City

Heidi Nelson’s pie ended up in the middle of the pack at Saturday’s Johnny Appleseed Day pie baking contest, but that wasn’t the point of it all.

The administrative assistant at The Bluffs of Lake City said the contest was a way to help draw Bluffs residents and community residents together.

Heidi was one of 14 people to enter pies in the contest, which was won by Kena Tackmann. Sue Johnson took second place and Angie Dwelle took third.
