April 3 presentation to address bee decline

The public is invited to a free presentation by biologist Chris Schad entitled “Prairie and Pollinators - A Cause for Hope” on April 3.

The Gardenaire Garden Club, which is sponsoring the event, said its motivation was recent news that bees have been placed on the endangered species list, jeopardizing food supplies and pollinator gardens.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m., April 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 520 W. Chestnut St., Lake City. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Schad is a member of the University of Minnesota’s Bee Squad.
