Arbor Day features Patton Park plantings
Lake City celebrated Arbor Day May 25 in Patton Park.
A few dozen people were on hand for the annual event organized by the city’s Forestry Advisory Committee.
Committee Member Dean Flugstad was the first to speak. He said it was “great to see a great turnout” at this year’s event.
He said Lake City’s Arbor Day event was one of several requirements the city must meet to be considered a Tree City USA Community by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Marie Miller, a member of the committee, and her husband, Paul, read tree-themed poems.
