Art chair auction begins Aug. 2 at library

After six months of work turning chairs into works of art, Lake City Area Arts is selling the results during a silent auction fundraiser that officially begins Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Lake City Public Library.
Thirty chairs have been on display at the library throughout the summer.
For Kate Halverson, who organized the project, the Chair Affair and its monthly paint-a-thons have been a rewarding departure from how she usually works.
