Balow touched by gratitude during Freedom Honor Flight

On Sept. 16, 2017, Eugene Balow of Lake City traveled to Washington D.C. with approximately 90 other veterans on a Freedom Honor Flight out of LaCrosse, Wis.

The flight left early that morning and returned at approximately 10 p.m. the same evening.

His daughter, Mary Pat Danckwart, accompanied him on the day-long trip which included visits to various memorials at the Nation’s Capital.

Eugene’s brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Balow, live in Maryland and were able to join him for some of the day’s activities.
