Band shell fundraisers: We have money
Kate Bremer and Mary Kay Johnson appeared before the Lake City City Council Monday with a message: We have $100,000 for a band shell in Lake City and are willing to raise more, we just need some direction.
Bremer and Johnson were representing a group formed after the death of longtime Lake City High School band director Steve Ritzenthaler to raise money for a band shell in his honor.
The funds raised were mostly a combination of memorials to Ritzenthaler and a donation from his wife, Mary Ellen, Johnson said.
