Biggest free food distribution yet planned for March 5

Volunteers are preparing for the largest pop-up food distribution to date, and they are looking for help.

On March 5, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Underwood Park parking lot on North 10th Street, they expect to distribute 600 boxes of food for free to anyone impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each 30-pound package includes protein, dairy, and fruits and vegetables.

As of Tuesday, March 2, there were eight volunteers.

The food is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and organized regionally by Channel One Food Bank.
