Last year the care center at Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City received a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services to enhance residents’ sleep quality. Each resident has completed a sleep questionnaire to help staff develop a tailored sleep plan.
“We know that better sleep equates to a better quality of life,” says Heidi Nelson, program coordinator. “The care center is our residents’ home, and we want it to be conducive to their getting the nighttime sleep they want and need.”
