Church history is continued

Last month’s article told the story of 125 years for St. Mark’s.  This will continue from then which was 1962.  
After Rev. Mr. Hughes left Lake City, Rev. George Perkins became our priest in 1964.  He was our active priest until 1972.  During his tenure, in 1966 Amy Fenwick became the first woman to serve on the vestry, our church building was redecorated in 1969, the public address system was installed, and our Sunday School had a membership of 40 children.  He resigned on June 6, 1972 and returned to his native home in Canada.
