Churches to team up on Lenten suppers
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Lake City will be suspending the monthly community suppers during the Lenten Season.
On Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. St. Mark’s will be serving a pancake supper to the community instead, which is the festival before Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10. The church welcomes anyone who would like to join them at their Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. for distribution of ashes by Rev. Mike Schulenberg. It is the first day of Lent where the ashes are put on the forehead as a sign of penitence.
