'Citizen's Academy' offers glimpse into Lake City public safety operations

People interested in the operations of Lake City’s public safety departments can sign up for a upcoming citizen’s academy.

Topics for the academy include investigations, evidence, driving while intoxicated arrests, firearms (including a shooting simulator game), crisis intervention training, emergency medical services training, fire training and more.

The academy will meet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays from Aug. 16 through Sept. 30, primarily at the Lake City public safety building at 601 N. 10th street.
