City skating rink opens

Lake City’s municipal ice skating rink at Underwood Park opened late last week.

Unseasonably warm temparatures earlier this winter made ice formation at the rink difficult, leaving skaters to find other venues such as the one on Lake Pepin near the government pier.

Now that it’s been cold enough for long enough, the city rink is open daily with lights on until 9 p.m.
