Compost site could open Friday
The Lake City municipal compost site on Territorial Road will open Friday, March 26, weather permitting, City of Lake City Public Works Director Scott Jensen said in an email Tuesday.
For perhaps the first time, the city is trying to control access to the site for certain users. The council approved a sticker program with fees for non-residents and businesses who wish to use the site. Residents who pay the monthly utility fee won’t need to pay additional charges to dump at the site.
