Dairy Princesses get likenesses carved in butter

The butter sculpting is well under way at the Minnesota State Fair.

Goodhue County Dairy Princess Maggie Mills of Lake City had her likeness carved from a 90-pound block of butter on Saturday.

Two other area princesses are waiting in the wings.

Samantha Keller of Goodhue was to have her likeness carved Wednesday.

Kallie Baker of Plainview will have her turn on Sunday, Sept. 6.

The princesses sit for six to seven hours in a refrigerated studio while fair-goers look on.
