DNR collects sample from washed up paddlefish

Susan Carollo discovered a large paddlefish washed up on the shore of Lake Pepin just north of Ohuta Park on July 6.

She contacted the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), which measured the fish and collected a segment of its jawbone for aging later this year.

Nick Schlesser is a large lake specialist at the DNR fisheries office in Lake City.
