Ed Foundation fundraising campaign helps fill children’s food program budget
Al and Gay Thompson had just two weeks to come up with a plan. Packing for the Weekend, a program the couple has administered for the last eight years, received approval to start up again after being paused during COVID-19.
Al was delighted to hear he could reinstate the weekend food-delivery program, but he was disappointed to find out that the funding would be half of what the program has received in the past.
“There has been a decrease in donations made to the United Way, our program’s primary funding organization,” he said.
