Estimated 1,500 frolick on lakefront during Float-a-Palooza

With warm and sunny conditions and a new event geared toward children, the second annual Float-a-Palooza appeared to be a success.

“We would estimate the attendance to be around 1,500,” said Michelle Larson of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce, which organized the event. “There were over 130 boats on the water, hundreds of people on the beach, and over 250 children participated in the kid’s sand dig. The weather was perfect and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy Lake Pepin, the beach, and Ohuta Park.”
