Fat tire bikes to run at Winter Fest

It has gotten to be the next big thing: Riding through the snow on bicycles with hugely oversized tires.

And the fat tire bike rage will come to Lake City during Winter Fest, Feb. 4.

The fat tire bike idea was Dan Coyle’s. He is always looking for ways to promote development and commerce in Lake City.

Dan had never ridden a fat bike, as enthusiasts call them, but he knew someone who had.

John Mueske, a biking enthusiast and perennial Tour de Pepin volunteer, loved the idea.

The two men went to the Chamber of Commerce which decided to sponsor the event.
