Ficks of Lake City are Wabasha County Farm Family of the Year

The Fick family of Lake City has been named Wabasha County’s “2022 Farm Family of the Year” by the University of Minnesota.

Troy Fick’s parents, Marvin and Ruth, purchased the Fick family farm in 1972. Troy is one of their four children. The family milked 50 cows in a tie-stall barn and in 1998 Troy took over the dairy. In 2000, Troy built a double-8 herringbone parlor in the existing tie-stall barn. Two years later, he built the slurry store. Troy married Tara Leonhardt in 2004. In 2007, Troy built another freestall barn.
