Fire dept. benefits from coop 'Round-Up' program

Lake City Fire Department will be able to replace four 50-foot segments of structure fire fighting hose thanks to a $1,000 grant from the Goodhue County Cooperative Electric Association’s (GCCEA) Operation Round-Up Fund.

Operation Round-Up program was started in 1996. Members can voluntarily have their electric bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and these extra cents are put in the Operation Round-Up Fund.

To date over $357,000 have been donated to local nonprofit organizations and disaster stricken areas since the GCCEA program began.
