A first-hand look at the impact of 'free trade'

Through the Catholic Worker Farm community that Paul and Sarah Freid coordinate, the pair seeks to blend environmentalism, sustainability and social justice.

In practice, the work of managing a 50-acre organic farm, marketing its vegetables and meat products, and raising a young family doesn’t leave a lot of time for considering the plight of farmers and workers abroad.

“This farm is focused on bringing about a more just work,” Paul said. “It can be a challenge in the busy day-to-day business of running a farm to address injustice.”
