Five for Food exceeds $35,000 goal by $6,000
Five for Food, an initiative of the Greater Lake City Community Foundation for the Lake City Food Shelf, has completed its seventh year with a record of 25 sponsors and $41,065 in total donations.
Twenty-five sponsors agreed to donate between $500 and $1,000. The sponsor funds, totaling $17,500 were pooled to match donations from the community. The initial goal for this year was $30,000 but, when additional sponsors came forward, the goal was increased to $35.000. Last year the goal of $26,000 was surpassed by $5,000.
