Five for Food raises $30k, shattering old record

Five for Food, the Greater Lake City Community Foundation’s annual fundraising initiative for the Lake City Food Shelf, has greatly exceeded its $26,000 goal with a total of over $30,000, the foundation announced.

Sponsors provided cash contributions which were used to match the contributions of the public. Five for Food 2020 surpassed the previous high of $22,184 last year. In six years, Five for Food has raised over $126,000. Given the purchasing-power afforded local food shelves, the funds donated are equal to over $500,000 worth of food.
