Forestry committee: Trees make downtown more welcoming

If you have been down on Lakeshore Drive lately you have seen the trees planted all along the new highway. What a welcome, people-friendly addition to our town. There is something humanizing and comfortable about adding trees to an environment. For all the walkers that make use of the Riverwalk, and for shoppers downtown, these trees will provide protection from the hot sun, frame the view of our beautiful lake, mark the seasons, and soften the look of our downtown.
