The Frontenac Sportsman’s Club has canceled its annual ice fishing contest on Frontenac Pond this year.
“The restrictions that were required due to COVID-19 to obtain a permit from the (Department of Natural Resources), were too much to overcome to run the tournament this year,” Wade Carlson, a member of the club, said.
The contest joins a list of popular winter events in the area that had to be canceled or drastically scaled back.
