Goodhue County conservation award winners announced

At the Goodhue County Fair on Thursday, August 10, it was announced that Ronningen Family Farms, owned by Kelly Ronningen, was given the Goodhue County Soil and Water Conservation Farmer of the Year Award.

The Ronningens have a 580 acre dairy and crop farm where they raise alfalfa on 150 acres, and have 90 acres of pasture.

They are in their second Conservation Stewardship Program contract. They added a flood control structure in 1969 and again 10 years later.
