Goodhue County History Center to hold suffrage program March 5

The Goodhue County History Center will commemorate Women’s History Month with Free Family Fun Day, “Mama Went to Jail for the Vote.”

The special day will be held at the history center on Saturday, March 5.

People can visit the center to learn about the suffragists who fought to have women’s right to vote recognized.

Local reenactment group The Cat’s Meow will also have a display of 1940s-era artifacts that focus on the roles women played in World War II.

The “Mama Went to Jail for the Vote” program begins at 2 p.m.

Admission is free for this day.
