Granddaughters of local couple win martial arts medals

Sisters Carissa and Nadia Hansen of Ocala, Fla., were medalists at a martial arts tournament in Raleigh, N.C., from June 30 to July 4 that their coach called “the highest level for non-professionals.”
Carissa, 16, won gold in both kobudo and kumite in the advanced brown belt division. Nadia won silver in kobudo.
They are the daughters of Steven and Andria Hansen of Ocala, Fla., and the granddaughters of Peter and Jane Hansen of Lake City.
